We caved and got him a race car bed. AND a race car pillow which was also very important to him. *note the cars pillow* :-) Well we surprised him Friday night just before bedtime and he was thrilled. "Oooh, race car bed! Race car pillow! (S)chool bus! Motorcycle! Wheels!" He was pretty excited and even let Becca sit on it with him. He was pretty emotional in general that day and asked for his crib bed but Mike explained that this was the big boy bed he had asked for and Bryant was satisfied. We were worried that he would get up in the night but I went into get him in the morning after I heard him talking and he was still in bed. Once he gets tucked in for the night, he does not leave his bed until we get him in the morning. I did make sure to fully baby proof his room just in case though. We also left him a rug with roads on it and some toy cars so if he does decide to get up, he can keep himself occupied. In the past, Bryant hasn't transitioned the greatest so we were thrilled! We are going on three nights now and he has been great!
This last weekend was also the March for Babies in Madison. Our team was wonderful and we raised $1170.00!! Our family is blessed to have such a great group of friends and family members who support us in this mission. This is such an important organization for us as we feel it made a huge difference in the outcome of Bryant's early arrival. Hopefully through research we helped to fund, other families may not have to go through the same frightening ordeal we went through.
