Changes...

Our family has recently undergone several changes. This week was the first week of my new journey into being a stay at home mom. Well kind of... My company is currently for sale and I was one of the casualties that was no longer needed at 100% time. Instead, I am now working from home 4 days of the week. So I should not have any troubles with finding things to blog about huh? I am however finding it hard to make work related phone calls while I have two screaming toddlers so I'm going to try making the most of naptime. Luckily the two munchkins are fantastic nappers which gives me at least a couple of quiet hours to get things done.

We have been extremely lucky that it has not been too cold out. The kids usually wake up around 7 am and shortly after they are dressed and loaded into the car so I can go out and feed the ponies. The past few days the kids are happy to stay in the car and watch Elmo so I can quickly get my chores done and be on our way. We then come home for breakfast and some playtime before we head back out to "the lot".

Mike and I purchased a 3+ acre lot this summer to keep the ponies on and quite possibly build some day. It is right on the edge of town and only about a minute or two car ride from our house. "The Lot" is now home to three ponies and two kittens. The kids love being there and helping out. One of the ponies is a 4 month old foal who is having a tough time acclimating to being weaned. He is currently a little depressed so I think he enjoys having the kids out to pay attention to him. He is just their size right now. He arrived last weekend so we are still trying to come up with a name for him.

Becca seems to be more into the ponies than Bryant who LOVES his kitties. He likes to take the longe whip which he calls "the chaser" and dangle it in front of the kittens. He then gets mad when they catch it. I think Bryant being the more timid of the two kids likes the kittens because of their small size and sweet personalities. He likes to pick them up and put them in the back of his dump truck. Lucky for him the kittens don't seem to mind.
