Opening weekend

It was opening weekend of deer hunting this weekend. Mike prepared for the big weekend on Friday night gathering all of his gear and making sure we had enough groceries so I wouldn't have to leave at all. He stayed up later than usual making a big pot of chili which is his yearly contribution to the weekend. All was well until about 3 am when he was blindsided by the stomach flu. He spent all of Saturday in bed. I ended up being the luckier of the two and I only had a touch of what he had with an upset stomach and nausea. My mom somehow contracted the illness as well and had similar symptoms to Mike. We were warned on Friday that a stomach flu was going around daycare so we wonder if it somehow skipped the kids and went straight to us adults.

Luckily Bryant was at the top of his game this weekend and on his very best behavior. He didn't have a single melt down all day Saturday and asked very nicely using please and thank you for whatever he needed. For a few brief moments, I was feeling well enough to take some snapshots of him playing.

I also was able to get him to pose a little bit. I can't seem to get him to smile though. When he did smile, he tried to give me Mr. Bear.

I enjoy watching him play. He is very imaginative and does so well by himself. He made me a "pizza" out of a magazine and this morning made Mike "pancakes" (which sounds more like pan-kins). He also has a new thing about "owies". He currently has a small owie on his hand and wants it kissed alot. He politely follows it us with the sweetest "thank you". He also likes to give kisses for owies too. If you tell him that something hurts he will offer to kiss it for you and make it all better. He does this when you least expect it which makes it twice as cute. If he even slightly hears you say "ouch" he will be right there wanting to make it better.

Rebecca has been sleeping alot this weekend. We took her in Friday for her hacking cough and she is being treated for a sinus infection. Hopefully the antibiotics do the trick.
